Since the last edition of RiSE we have successfully transitioned to the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard.

This approval from Lloyd’s Register (LR) demonstrates that our quality management system follows a robust and globally recognised approach that’s focused on continually improving our processes and managing significant business risks to meet the needs and expectations of customers and key stakeholders through quality and continual improvement.

After many years in the making, the globally harmonised ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety management (OH&S) system certification came into effect in 2018.

Whilst organisations certified under OHSAS 18001:2007 had three years to migrate to the new standard, it was important that Balmoral reinforced its reputation and commitment to workplace safety and push the change through as quickly as possible.

In October 2018 we successfully migrated the existing OHSAS 18001 approval to the new ISO 45001 standard.

This new standard provided an excellent opportunity to align our OH&S management system with our strategic direction focusing on improved OH&S processes and performance.

“This achievement recognises the continued commitment from senior management and our focus on active employee consultation, participation and engagement to help provide a safe and healthy workplace for everyone”, said Ross McCartney, Balmoral’s QHSE Manager.
